These are recordings made at Soop Studios with the magnificent John Lindberg on bass, and myself on soprano, baritone, and tenor saxophone. From Stem to Stern is a dedication to the Italian-American author whose creative drive and candid expression have inspired and influenced me. A full LP is available soon. In my experience performing composed and improvised music (20 years now) I have not experienced a musical partner that is more adept at comprehending what is happening in the epic present. For those not familiar with his great work go to johnlindberg.com.

training inspired by the spiritual potency of John Coltrane’s music and the
avant-garde cabal, which led him to studies with John Tchicai and Eddie Gale.

the California Institute of the Arts, under the tutelage of Ishmael Wadada
Leo Smith. Casey’s music is aimed at cultivating inner peace and universal
